“Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.” Matthew 6:13
(Temptation)
What circumstances lead you away from God?
What sins are you particularly vulnerable too?
What are you struggling with?
This fourth week of prayer is centered on temptation and deliverance from evil. We will be using Jesus' temptation in the wilderness as our guide. Each temptation will be split into 2 days. The first day will be focused on the specific temptation and the second day will be focused on Jesus’ response.
Spend some time sitting with the passages:
1. Respond by giving thanks for God’s presence in all trials.
(Second day: Give thanks for Jesus’ victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil.)
2. Ask God to reveal how this temptation is playing out in your everyday life.
(Second day: Ask God how Jesus’ response to the temptation applies to you.)
3. Ask God to reveal any situations, beliefs, practices that are making you vulnerable to this temptation.
(Second day: Ask God how He is inviting you to live differently based on the truth of His Word)
Spend some time listening to His response and journal your experience.
